Today's featured CPBT-KA (Certified Professional Bird Trainer - Knowledge Assessed) is Lauren Phillippi. Lauren is currently the ZOOMobile Advisor at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs, CO. She has loved all the birds she has had the chance to work with so far but says "I've generally been drawn to any free flight birds I train, it is always a rush to watch them fly!"
Lauren was inspired to take the test "as a way to show my commitment to my profession as a trainer. I want to always stay current on best practices while training healthy, empowered birds. I just recently got certified, but I'm excited for the professional development opportunities ahead. It will be fun to take different workshops and classes to earn Continuing Education Credits towards my certification."
If you are thinking about getting certified, Lauren says, "Go for it! You likely know a lot more than you think. Studying helps too... repetition builds confidence!"
